This song gives me all the feels....my mum and a lot of her friends loved this song when it came out and one of her friends named Jenny did an amazing rendition of it, though Jenny would never let anyone tell her that she had a great voice and she only ever sang at all when she was drunk. The majority of women I knew growing up were in abusive relationships at one point or another and while it never occurred to me as a kid, I wonder now what this song meant to them and for them. Its kind of bittersweet listening to it now, it reminds me of my mum but it reminds me of a lot of bad stuff too...but all of its worth remembering
