This song is very personal to me. I watched an interview of her talking about when she wrote these lyrics and her experience with anxiety and panic attacks. It felt like I was telling my own story. How many times have you heard me cry out God, please take this? How many times have you given me strength to just keep breathing? Oh, I need you. God, I need you now. If you have issues with anxiety and panic attacks I think you will relate to this song. She said she remembered going into bathroom stalls at public places and thinking of the words in quotations above. I can certainly understand being a singer/songwriter who has dealt with social anxiety, generalized anxiety and depression since I was a child. Because of music my words were disregarded when I tried to tell teachers and family that I couldnt get up and talk in front of people and that I had problems being around others sometimes. My reply was always, You get up in front of the entire school and sing, you can give a report (or whatever else I was trying to explain). Please dont disregard your children if they try to tell you something like this. Many creative people have emotional issues, mental illness etc. In fact, the most well known artists in history were typically known as melancholy from classic poets, painters to musicians. Before you judge that loser musician or the person you think who has it made you should consider how much you may not even know about them. Its also odd to me how the struggling artist is a loser but the one who achieves success by the worlds standards becomes a hero and role model. Dont both of them love what they do just as much? Does a record deal or a tour mean someone has more talent? No. Some people dont even aspire to get to that level of success but even if they do at least they are living out what they love and using the talent God has given them. Nobody defines you but God, not even yourself! God says you are VALUABLE! You have enough worth that Jesus Christ died for YOU. Dont ever let the world define you. God accepts you just the way you are and it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks.
