He tells her to hold on and think about their relstionship because he is going to take her to the top. The song was a huge hit in 1978 for Money, reaching number 11 on the year end Billboard Hot 100 charts. It also ended a family tradition of men in the Money family having a career in law enforcement as Eddie gave up law enforcement to become a major player in the rock and roll entertainment business. Probably a great career move for him as his music has stood the test of time and his songs are still played today on the rock and roll stations.
