This song written by Mark Lowry came to mind this morning, as my Sunday school class began studying Lukes account of the events leading up to the birth of our Savior. I wanted to mention it, but my limping memory couldnt recall all the words; so, I just kept it in my heart. [Cleola what a joy to find it was waiting for me at home and so well done. Thanks :) ] As our class pondered the thoughts of Mary humbly standing before Gabriel and hearing the Good News, the Messiah was coming and she would be the vessel to carry Him into the world, we spoke of her humility and willingness to do whatever the Lord asked of her. Mary had found favor with God, because God had chosen her, not because she was worthy by any great effort on her part. She was nothing more than a poor teenager in a nondescript little village, facing eternity with her trust in a God who keeps His promises...Still, God chose her to mother His Son. What a great and marvelous God we have! It is never about who you are or what youve done. It is, and always will be, about who He is and what He will do.
