This spaceship drive appears to violate Newtons Third Law, - TopicsExpress

This spaceship drive appears to violate Newtons Third Law, according to a group at NASA who built the second one ever. That is, it generates thrust without giving up any reaction mass. Putting it another way: Its not shooting anything out the back: Not anything that shows up on the measurements conducted so far. However, it does it on such a small scale that its probably only useful for very slow trips in microgravity; it certainly isnt going to overcome a gravity well. But it has the potential replace Ion drives we currently use for deep space probes with many-year missions. Essentially, if this bears up to further testing, it looks like someone has found a way to collect enough individual quantum-level interactions to produce a force that (barely) registers on the everyday scale of physics, rather than the subatomic scale. And violates Newtons laws in the process.
