This storm changed my whole life and so many others that I loved dearly. Like they say, you may divorce your spouse but you continue to love the family. That family lost many homes in new orleans and had to start their lives elsewhere. I am still so proud of the family for sticking together and rising above the storm that robbed them of the only life they knew. My family was fortunate. We lived on the north shore and although we had damage and without electricity for weeks. We were very lucky because our whole neighborhood decided to stay and ride it out. WRONG! As a mother, I should of left and protected my children. Yes safe but the fear and this storm was far from nice. It was angry. Tornados going between our houses whipping pine tress and throwing them like they were beach balls.we all knew there was a god when we walked out and realized that the only home that had the most damage was the one home that the family left. Three trees laying inside their home. For us it was more picking up the pieces of the mental damage it did. Katrina blew through and changed all of us. The storm that In a strange way made me as strong as she was. The storm that helped me to make huge changes in my life. The storm that gave me the strength to stand strong for once! BLESSED
