This storm is coming our way and due to arrive with heaviest rains between 4am-8am. If you dont have to drive, its a great day to stay put at home. It may be a proactive move to make sure all your portable devices are charged up, now. Get portable lamps or flashlights out and make sure batteries work. Download a few movies or books ahead of time on your tablet or laptop, just in case. Find some snacks that dont require power to prepare (especially for kids or elderly). Lightning strikes are associated with this on order of 2-4 per hour. High winds are expected. These may impact our power supply. Make sure your pets have their potty break before the storm arrives and please, PLEASE make sure your pets are kept indoors during the storm and wearing current ID. if you take them out, make sure their leash/collar are secure so they dont run off if scared. Check on your seniors throughout the day/night to be sure theyre okay, particularly if they live alone. Your power may be on, but theirs may not ..
