This story has received a fair bit of press lately. However, what makes this so interesting is that while the US is being called to lay sanctions against Iceland for their fin whale hunt, the EU is considering similar sanctions for what Scotland is calling egregious overfishing by Iceland. This could have interesting implications as Iceland is second in fishing only to Norway at least in the eastern Atlantic, and fishing makes up a substantial proportion of their GDP.
