This study was on marriages and what makes them successful, but it hits on a much deeper issue that is so prevalent in so many of us. Even Im guilty of it. We spend so much time looking for the right and wrong in each other, beliefs, opinions, and everything else in hopes that we, ourselves, might be the reason for a change that we miss the opportunity to actually make one. It starts with your attitude, the way you wield your heart and whether or not it rules you. Kindness is a gift, something we create in the most unlikely of circumstances, to genuinely make a difference. Im really working on this with people, but I will say my wife, Mgn Mllr, reminds me everyday that joy is in the heart of whoever would choose it. We all spend way too much time negatively looking at things. Who to blame, whos right or wrong (or left haha). I know I come off that way in many posts, and too often, I choose a hardened heart and cynical sarcasm. Let me simply take a moment to tell anyone who reads my nonsense that I am grateful and thrilled that you take time to acknowledge me. We might not agree, but youre still my friends and family and you are wonderful. The world is as beautiful or as ugly as you want to see it. This is why Ive stopped using mirrors.
