This style was called Future Gothic (Zukunftsgothik), used for public buildings in Berlin (and beyond) in the early 20th century. I love this building in particular, with its incredible brickwork and brilliant economy of design - yielding a whole array of architectural effects with basically just one move. Built in 1912-15 by Berlins then city architect Ludwig Hoffmann. Now Berlin does not have a city architect anymore.
