This sunday we read Jesus interaction with the blind man, and we celebrate the fact that Jesus recognized him, healed him, and transformed his life. In our congregations, we have many with disabilities, and they have taught us more than anyone. They have been leaders in raising money for cancer, making bookmarks, helping Mazeppas Manna, and so many other things. Without those in the congregations with disabilities, we would never be the great congregations that we are. They have taught me the importance of being rich in the fact that without God we can do some great things, but with the power of God we can do the impossible. I call on all congregations to lift up those this week in your congregations who have disabilities. Think about how they have impacted your congregations through their work because they met Jesus.
