This tape contains raw footage for the 1986 television special Once A Star. This video includes an interview with female jockey Robyn Smith Rough cut of Robyn Smith segment. Female jockey Smith talks about the experience of trying to survive as a woman in a man’s world: “It never became easy for me.” She attributes the difficulty of getting agents and finding horses to an internal bureaucracy / hierarchy. Despite the troubles finding work, she feels she has a natural talent, and she worked hard, and enjoyed her work. The tape contains sporadic clips from the interview along with footage of Smith during various races.
