This time last week the cries of a woman desperate for help at about 5.20pm, from the big island of Savaii, turned into a heart thumping exercise . We were looking forward to going home after work, thinking that our families would be so happy seeing us before dark. But it wasnt so, SVSG exists because of its caring nature and we had to respond to this womans calls for help. Apparently the husband had burnt all her clothes and was chasing her with a machete. The only thing she had taken was her phone. She rang us through the Helpline and told us exactly where she was hiding,. She was stuttering, scared and spoke in a small whispered voice. At our end we could not focus, for we were so scared ourselves in case something happened that we had no control from our office. The police were informed, our village reps in Savaii were informed, the husband is now in police custody, and the wife is now safe with her children. By 7.30pm, we all went home happily . This is how we take our services seriously, and we thank The Lord for pure guidance on each and everyone of us. God bless, and much thanks to all those who have helped in saving lives today.
