This touched me when it first came out and it hits hard still today. Ill watch the documentary when I feel strong enough to handle the pain this story inflicts. But the real lesson is this: Protect your relationship - with marriage when possible and with legal wills. No one should ever be erased from their partners life. Losing someone is hard enough on its own. Being denied the right to say goodbye - the right to mourn with loving family around - is inexcusable. Parents - pease examine the walls around you to be sure youre never guilty of causing this kind of pain. Ultimately your childs life is not about you. Its about them. So tear down the walls and welcome your children with all the joyful people they love. Celebrate their individual unique lives.
