This touring stuff gives me all these FEELINGS. All I can really say is, Minnesota Fringe puts a lot of independent NYC theatre festivals to shame. Theyve got awesome crowds, awesome communities; a festival that really celebrates the kind of stuff a theatre maker strives to create. #naturalnovice had GREAT audiences, *almost* sold out our last show, and got wonderful audience and press reviews. Humbled, grateful. Im so grateful to so many Minnesotans at this point, most notably my BFF Motz, who had my back every single day, and (non-Minnesotan) Seth Lepore, who spent way too much time ensuring that my experience would be solid here. Seth really raises the bar in terms of artist friends, and solo performers taking care of each other. Love him. So much. As well as these three boys: Kenny Miller, Steven Thomsen and Zach Panzer, who know how to get down. End of that story. Not to mention excellent stylists/gossers/friends: Sica Dawn and Michael Collins. The rest is an infinitely long list, really, but Annie Leonard makes delicious salad and provides a really really good time in my Minnesota Family with Casey Peterson and Lisa Leonard, I cant wait to be back (in the winter??) with you guys again, and to ALL OF THE OTHER ARTISTS AND FRINGERS who I met/saw perform/became a huge fan of. I experienced such joy, fun, thrill, anxiety, stress, overwhelm-edness, exhaustion, laughter, solidarity, and even unexpected tenderness that comes with riding a bike late late at night through this fine city of Minneapolis. I arrived in Seattle last night, and spent my evening hours on the porch of Carolynne Wilcoxs home, talking about life and love and theatre, of course. Next adventure is here. Carrying all of this stuff in my heart.
