This traditional Malay midwifery book I am reading is extremely riveting. One chapter talks about the invisible twin (kembar ghaib). Its where a baby is born with a twin that disappears after the birth but remains close to the one that is in the real world until the day they die. So apparently theres a story of a pregnant mom who gave birth to a baby in her dream. When she woke up, she found that her tummy was deflated and there were evidence of a birth. The baby was nowhere to be seen. But everytime her breasts became swollen with milk, she could feel a baby suckling on them and her breasts will become soft again. She would meet her child throughout her lifetime in her dreams. Freaky. Really freaky but interesting. Ive also just learned that an en caul baby is called bayi sampul in Malay. :) Bayi sampul were believed to be invincible.
