This turned out to be a hell of a rant. Ive been reflecting on my life a bit in the past few months. I am 30 years old and I have worked in the public school system, and had roommates for that last 10 years. In that 10 years I have learned a lot. But there are a few things I just can not figure out. First, how is it that no one else has had food ever go stale when its left out? If I leave food out, it goes stale by morning. This seems to not happen anyone else. I mean, if it did, it wouldnt happen all the time, right? Second, there are a lot of people that dont flush when they shit. I dont understand this at all. Third, why cant women teach younger gals how to properly dispose of tampons? Why, when I stand in my apartment and look around, I see 5 blenders, 3 griddles, 3 coffee makers, 3 can openers, 16 pots and pans (that dont match), 4 pepper grinders, 12 pairs of shoes piled in front of the door, laptops, printers, video game controllers, and 5 phone chargers, but Im told my guitar is in the way? Lastly, today I witnessed a teacher down the hallway, giving directions to a parent on how to find the restrooms, straight down this hallway. Theyre by those drinking fountains, on the right, he told the parent. Then I watch as that parent walked down the hallway toward me (Im standing by the restrooms), They asks me, do you work here? Yes, I reply. (Even though I have keys, a radio, a badge, and a cart of shit no one other than an employee should ever have in a school.) They ask me, Where is the restroom? As I stand right there by the mens room, how am I not supposed to blankly stare at them while I drop trou, shit on the floor, and commit a coup de gras on my self with a puddy knife?
