This upcoming Monday and Wednesday, the cadets of the Nittany Lion Battalion will be taking their record Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). People always talk to each other about carb-loading in preparation for the big event, but what should an athlete really do to ready their body for the APFT? Central Washington University posted a guide on what an athlete should eat: - High carbohydrate meals every day before the event (pasta, oatmeal, bagels, bananas, apples... etc) - Limit high fat proteins like cheese and peanut butter - Drink extra water the day before, 2-3 glasses before bed, and 1-3 glasses 10 minutes before the event.
