The same technique will assist formula-fed babies to drink more comfortably and reduce spitting up and excessive wind being swallowed. For breast fed babies who need to have occasional bottle feeds I recommend the Pigeon Peristaltic Plus WIDE NECK bottle and matching WIDE NECK teat with the CROSSCUT Y opening, in preference to teats with holes. This bottle and teat encourages baby to maintain a wide gape with flanged lips, and to work for the milk in a similar action as when feeding at the breast.
