This video has caused an uproar among the Filipino BPO workers and I agree that it was really distastefully done. However, 3 points in the video were true: 1. Saturated market - The problem is not necessarily saturation but a negative effect of saturation which is people not valuing their jobs. Because of an abundant supply of BPO jobs, there is a general lack of discipline thats prevalent. If we show that we dont like the jobs that are being given to us, someone else will take it! This was exactly what I shared with #247Cebu a few days ago. 2. Lack of support from the government - Infrastructure is inadequate to meet the growth and demands of the BPO industry. Daily traffic and inability to cope with rain/typhoon/flooding has lowered inverstors confidence. Our government seems to be more interested in finding fault among themselves and show one is more corrupt than the other. 3. We are a typhoon-stricken country - Not much we can do about this but going back to the first two points above, we can be resilient and overcome typhoons or any other natural disaster if we value our jobs enough and our government supports us. As shown in this video, investors have already noticed these three points and are already looking elsewhere to bring their business over. I personally believe the Filipino is world-class and I hope we turn things around ASAP before its too late. Instead of getting offended by this, lets use this to motivate ourselves to become better. Reflect on how we once were a contributor to the negative trend and how we can help turn things around. #SelfAwareness #BangonPilipinas #247Life
