This video illustrates the simple procedure for Apicoectomy Via Piezosurgery . An incision is made in the gum tissue (Ochsenbein Luebke flap) to expose the bone and surrounding inflamed tissue. The damaged tissue is removed along with the end of the root tip by Piezosurgery Bur . A root-end (apical third) is removed by Turbin Handpiece Fissure Bur and ( Beveling at 25 angle ) to prevent reinfection of the root and the gum is sutured. Piezosurgery has been proven to be the safest. Piezosurgery uses ultrasonic micro-vibrations to gently cut bone without being able to cut softer, more delicate anatomy. The bone naturally heals around the root over a period of months restoring full function. Patients report that healing is faster, swelling is greatly reduced and recovery is much more comfortable.
