This video is a recording of a live performance of Ben Wahlunds snare drum solo/soundscape composition, The Whimsical Nature of Small Particle Physics.** Performer and member of VCUs Percussion Studio, Alex Cahen, played the piece in a dark room with the soundscape as an accompaniment. The video projected overtop of him was created by Filth. The backing audio is multiple recordings of sounds from a particle accelerator that was then composed into a sound piece. The video reflects these sounds in a rhythmic pattern, creating visual sounds. All together, the music and the video play with being in and out of sync, making moments of tension and relief. The performance took place at VCUs Fine Arts Building on April 24th, 2014. Video, soundscape, snare drum, 2014 **NOTE: This is a live recording of the performance.
