This video is ceremony of Salone (Monkhan) ethnic from MaKyoinGalet village of Lampi Marine National Park. In former days, the ‘Salone’ nationals had made their living by catching a variety of sea creatures using small boats made by carving logs (canoes). But according to the study recently made in “Lan-pi Sea National Garden”, it is learnt that their present form of earning is by hunting a kind of creature named “Kin-mon” (squid). Of is also learnt that their former trade before this hunting kin-mon” had been “catching see cucumber” which have become scarce day to day and has deprived them of their livelihood on that. So the new line of business, hunting kin-mon, began on a large scale since 1998-99 .
