This video is full of bullshit logic. I stumbled on it a few weeks ago. The premise behind it was to show that electric superchargers did not work. That however is a load of proverbial shit. What they use for the test here had about as much engineering skill put into it as a retarded monkey beating a square peg into a round hole with a 10 lb sledge hammer. Anyone who knows anything about positive displacement can see that this design has about as much capability to raise air pressure as a speghetti strainer. Now, if they were to use an impeller with the same general shape and design as the input side of a turbo, using a motor as the prime mover it could actually output, potentially 50-200% the pressure change of a turbo given the RPM involved with a standard brushless motor of about 20,000 RPM. You of course would not want to raise the pressure by that much apon the possibility of destroying the engine but the potential is there. Also with the right sensors and computer control, the electric unit would spool up much more quickly and wouldnt have to rely on the exhaust pressure to motivate the unit which gives the design the potential to fine tune the pressure for different RPM of the engine and or of the torque, power curves. So I guess what I am saying is that anyone who tells you that an electric supercharger is bad tech really needs to stop buying the units from EBay being sold by some guy named Bubba who lives in Small-Brain, Arkansas. Believe it.
