This video is ridiculous and has been taken and percieved in the wrong way. This goes against the code of conduct every doctor follows: prevention over cure. It is true that the stock market should not crash over ebola. But saying we shouldnt worry about it is foolish and arrogant. His argument is to not freak out because it has not become an epidemic in America; however, if we as a country ignore ebola and dont take precaution than it will become a epidemic as it already has in other places. It is important that we follow the pillars of medicine and prevent instead of cure...especially seeing how there is no possible cure for ebola as it is a disease. We can simply treat symptoms and hope for the best until a vaccine to prevent is found. And seeing how ebola takes a while for onset, resembles the cold, kills quickly, and recently identified as a virus that become airborne anytime now (not that by bodily fluids isnt spreadable as shown in other countries), action needs to be taken. Not forgotten. Otherwise this will become a pandemic. As a closing statement I leave you with this: Its not just the U.S. freaking out. The U.N. just said we have 60 days to get this breakout under control. It is serious. No one is saying freak out, they are saying be cautious and treat ebola as it should, a threat we dont know how to deal with. Dont pass it off as nothing.
