This video made me cry. If you can afford to spend just eight minutes of your time, I promise this video will open your eyes. I grew up in a family of big human right activists, and this is precisely why its so necessary. This young girl had to bury her own dead father, watch her mother get raped right before her eyes, and cross the Gobi desert in an attempt to escape North Korea. As she says in her speech, the public focuses so much on the regime that the actual people are forgotten. (I recommend turning on the subtitles.)
