This video shows the moment when NSW Rural Fire Service helicopter Firebird 226 rescued three people trapped by the McGills Road fire at Kremnos this afternoon. The fire was headed towards a home that firefighters were unable to access. Grave concerns were held for the three people sheltering in the home. After careful consideration, FB226 pilot Ben Geaney landed nearby and successfully retrieved the three occupants, flying to them to safety. A number of items around the property were lost to fire but fortunately the house itself sustained only moderate damage. Video: NSW RFS Inspector Boyd Townsend
