This wall post contains spoilers about Guardians of the Galaxy and will include a jump. If youre one of the 4 people who has yet to watch it, dont click See More. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . That ought to do. Its pretty much universally agreed that We are Groot is the biggest tearjerker in the movie. If youve seen it you know why. The raw emotion of it, the clear message of Im saving my family, and the environmental undertones that Nature is finite and we should stop taking it for granted. And like most other people, I got teary. But it isnt the most emotional part of the movie for me. For me, the part that most deeply affected me, the one I was crying openly at, was when a drunk and angry Rocket Raccoon silences everyone yelling at him with his pained broken screaming anger and hatred for being forced to exist. How he never asked to be created, to be cut up and put back together like a jigsaw puzzle, never asked to be made into what he is through abuse and torture in a lab. Bradley Coopers voice acting in that scene is so incredible I tear up just thinking about it. Because thats how I feel about what was done to me as an infant. Thats how I feel about having a doctor decide to experiment on ME, to fix what was never broken, to condemn me to a life of pain to satisfy HIS ideas of what was supposed to be. I loved We are Groot. It was deeply emotional and heartbreaking and touching. And proof of how underrated as an actor Vin Deisel is. But for me personally, I never asked to be made was the scene that ripped me up inside.
