This was a nice email to wake up to: David, Just wanted to let you know how pleased my family and I are with the designed HVAC system you did for our home. We have had an extended brutal winter here in NC and have commented time and time again how glad we are with the system you designed for us. If you remember, I was going with a sealed/conditioned crawlspace and foam insulation package. We could not find anyone who could correctly calculate the correct tonnage for the insulation we were using although everything you see from the foam insulation people is how you can offset the cost by using a lower tonnage for the square footage as compared to a home with fiberglass batt iinsulation. Every HVAC outfit I contacted in my area calculated loads as if I were going with fiberglass and told me point blank they didnt know how to calculate foam into the equation. First, you saved me several thousand dollars by suggesting a whole house dehumidifying ventilator, everyone else quoted two ventilators and one dehumidifier. Second, you downsized the tonnage which enabled me to go with a higher seer rating and stay on budget. With single digit temperatures for several days and temps in the teens for weeks on end we are heating a 3800 sq. ft. home from the crawlspace to the attic for an average of $220 per month with our lowest being $178 and our highest $274 since November. We have electric heat so a percentage of that bill is also for everyday living: cooking, lights, TV, etc. While your services werent free the cost was a fraction of what you saved me in equipment alone not to mention the value added to the home in efficiency and resale value by having a designed system. Thank you David! Sincerely, David Horne
