This was a reply to a Jewish friend concerning the rabbinic - TopicsExpress

This was a reply to a Jewish friend concerning the rabbinic doctrine of how to worship a divine man is idolatry. I believe many Muslims believe the same. Did you know that MOSES both BOWED and WORSHIPED a divine personage that the Hebrew Scriptures plainly identify as YHWH? If you are Muslim, please check out the following, study it out, and share your input. :) -AJC A Jewish person said: If you worship a divine man you are in idolatry and cant be Jewish. My response: Again, Im perplexed and confused here because in Ex. 34:1-10, the Hebrew text explicitly says that Moses BOWS DOWN and WORSHIPS the YHWH personage that descends on a cloud, stands and passes before Moses, and Moses doesnt DIE! (Ex. 33:20) Nothing in the Hebew about a malak here. This whole fixated doctrine is one of unequal weights and measures - not to mention the utter hypocrisy of such a mindset and statement - goes completely against the narrative text of Ex. 34:1-10. It goes against the very testimony of Moses BOWING and WORSHIPPING a divine personage of YHWH, even going as far as asking this divine figure to FORGIVE the INIQUITIES of himself and Israel calling this divine personage Lord asking if The Lord would be with him and Israel. If you want to condemn people for worshipping the divine personage of Yeshua (Jesus), then please dont be hypocrites: condemn Moses as well. And for the sake of entertainment, lets say that the certain parts of rabbinic commentary about this YHWH personage being a malak is completely true - that this personage that descended in the cloud was ONLY a normal angel of The Lord, (though there is nothing in the Hebrew text that even hints at this being the case), wouldnt Moses be in complete idolatry BOWING and WORSHIPPING an angel/heavenly host? Even asking this angel to forgive him and Israels iniquities? What angel, in and of themselves, has such authority to accomplish such? None. So, though Moses (Deut. 4:2, 12:32) and the author of Pro. 30:5-6 say not to add or take away from Gods Word, its okay to do that in the context of Ex.34:1-10? Besides this, there isnt one contextual reference throughout the whole Tanakh that God says that He cannot or wont enter into His creation in the image and likeness of one like the sons of men (divine human). His NATURE and CHARACTER isnt like the sons of men who lies and need to repent at times, but nothing about God not being able to enter and tabernacle among His people in the image and likeness of a divine human. So here is our conclusions of Ex. 34:1-10: Either (1) Moses BOWS and WORSHIPS the divine personage of which the Hebrew text plainly witnesses as YHWH [which is condemned as idolatry in Jewish Law] or (2) according to rabbinic doctrine, Moses BOWS and WORSHIPS an normal angel/messenger of YHWH and both Moses and this particular angel is guilty of idolatry [according to Gods Law saying that God alone is to be worshipped and loved with all we are] because Moses WORSHIPS and this normal heavenly host doesnt FORBID him from doing so. In conclusion, the plain linguistic and contextual witness is absolutely clear that (1) is the case. So, what do we do with Moses who BOWED and WORSHIPED a divine personage that the Hebrew text plainly says is YHWH? Do we keep this rabbinic doctrine that says the worship of a divine man is complete idolatry, and if so, do this mean we THROW OUT Ex. 34:1-10? No. Yeshua (Jesus) made clear that if we truly knew Moses, we would know who HE truly is, but if we dont believe Moses, how will be believe Him? (John 5:43-47) -AJC
