This was a strange week for encounters between hunters and either wounded or dead animals. Last Saturday a Utah hunter was stabbed behind his jaw when he attempt to roll a 600-to 700-pound elk. He called for help and eventually had surgery. He was expected to fully recover. Then on Tuesday, a Montana hunter shot a female black bear with a bow. After waiting several hours to track it, he wound up shooting the wounded bear twice more. Another man who had come to assist the hunter was bitten on the arm by the bear when he encountered it. The bear died shortly thereafter. The injured man was treated and released from a Plains, Mont., hospital. #Elk hunting #bear hunting
