Its not where the substantial raced wealth of the country is held, nor is there any widespread popular demand for its redistribution, compared to the demand for housing, jobs, and (urban) land resources. Or am I just totally unaware of some giant popular demand for rural land? Claire Hawkridge? ...the EFF follows a long tradition of elite African nationalism and focuses on rural land reform. However, there are no popular protests in support for rural land reform. Land is a central issue in popular protest, but it is urban land that is being subject to vigorous contestation from below.
