This was great, thanks Veep Al for hosting; especially enjoyed Jean Baptiste, the french scientist living in Australia. Three important take aways- 1 we need a green Czar with a committee, not the EPA to address positively and aggressively solutions to the climate crisis. 2. "we have to stop using the skies as an open sewer." Al Gore quote. 3. We currently do have all the technology that we need to get us off filthy fossil fuels. Gore is also vehemently opposed to the xl pipeline running from Canada to the Gulf so BP or any canadian company can sell gulf oil to the Chinese by dragging a pipe through the middle of our country notwithstanding the jobs argument. Also noteworthy was the enthusiasm for electric cars, and the belief that our future is largely in our hands. We can cool the planet down and will see marked differences in climactic consequences. Its deep and deserves serious serious study but more than study- action. and fast action. Food prices will be impacted by droughts by virtue of supply/demand functions. Ultimately long droughts in poorer places threaten actual wars- seriously. Who should our Enviro-Green Czar be?
