This was kind of an unexpected press release from NASA (to us astronerds, anyway). Right now, theres an outbound probe called New Horizons that will reach Pluto next July. It was designed for just that one purpose; examine the Pluto system, send as much data back as possible before drifting out into interstellar space. But NASA just last week decided to train the Hubble telescope on potential targets for New Horizons to explore BEYOND Pluto, once its flyby is complete. Which kinda makes sense. As long as were in the neighborhood, and having already come this far, why not see whats doing out in the Kuiper Belt? Give our regards to Veeger. Bruce Lindner
