This was me in middle school, it got to the point that I had to leave. I was the fat kid with the bug net that cared more about nature and science than sports. They thought I was from another planet and treated me as such. Not to play me wee violin, its just a true story. Ive been through a lot since then. Some would say worse things than being bullied but Ive found that its those early experiences that shaped my responses to horrible situations that came later. Ive come a long way in retraining my mind to deal with things constructively but every so often Im walking those halls again, hearing the names and remembering the faces. Those emotions have been and always will be lifelong companions of sorts. Bravo to this kid and his family. Oh and gaming always helped me calm down and gather my thoughts, while allowing me to escape for a little while. Who knows what would have happened without that outlet.
