This was my 4th and best KG :) I think being a bit more involved - TopicsExpress

This was my 4th and best KG :) I think being a bit more involved helped make it awesome. I actually attended workshops, gave one with a friend (by the way, thanks to all who came to the Paganism and Jesus workshop!! Great turn-out and discussion!), helped with the Third Gender ritual (Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!!!!!!!!!!! Its not what you think!!! Thanks to Linda and the rest of Lokabrenna for letting me have a role in the rit), did a shift as a green fairy, got to catch two concerts, danced liked crazy (a bit around the fire, and very joyfully at the two dance workshops, which were definitely a highlight!), finally sang my crazy Eat Cat song at the Bardic, which was an absolute blast (thanks to everyone who joined in - that is the best part for me! I will provide a video with lyrics in English and in French soon) and generally felt more involved in the community than in past years. Its nice to contribute a little bit to the community. In addition to all that, its nice to get to know more and more people and to have more and more impromptu little gatherings. The hour long chat with Nadia, Stephen, and Dave in front of the rabbit hole comes to mind, as does the hang-out under my tarp with much laughter, chips and chocolate with Lorena, Lana and Drew on Sunday night. Makes me feel really at home to just have these unplanned moments of friendship and joy :) Like others, I cant thank M.A., Auz, and all the staff for all the work that goes into this. In particular, a heartfelt thanks to those of you who dealt with my sons often puzzling behaviour with such patience and grace. I love that he feels increasingly safe at KG/RK - he is still learning but he is getting more and more mature, and I think the supportive environment that is there helps so much. And of course, I SUPER appreciate the CPAP battery charging service. I cant thank you all enough for that. In terms of overall vibe....for me, this came on the heels of the annual Sundance ceremony that I attend in Northern Quebec, which is very powerful and healing for me. So a lot of my quiet time at KG was spent contemplating the lessons from that and allowing myself to feel those feelings. So KG (and Anticifest, since we were there for that whole time as well) contributed to that healing as well by giving me the space and energy to bask. I also felt a very joyous and festive energy. It seems almost everyone who passed by our camp on the YBR waved, said hello or stopped to exchange a few words. I enjoyed the energy around the fire (some have commented it was less energetic than usual). I didnt really notice anything like that, but a few of us were wondering if its just us or if there is less and less nudity over the years. Are people feeling less comfortable? Or maybe I just dont stay late enough - Im an early dancer and I tend to crash around 1AM, so that might be part of it. And speaking of Anticifest...Am I the only one that felt magic in the air on the Monday night during Anticifest? I wandered back and forth from Diagon Alley to the Hearth Fire that night and there was something...electric about it all. Some kind of festive old-time village feel. I dont really know how to explain it but it was awesome and Im glad I was there for it. I also greatly enjoyed the process of seeing the place fill up :) Seeing it empty out on Monday and Tuesday was less fun but I am glad we stayed the extra couple of days to just unwind. OK....that was much more than I was planning on writing!!! Thanks again to everyone who worked to make this happen and to all who contributed just by being awesome folks! If we hung out at all, feel free to add me but please write and tell me who you are if your picture does not make it clear. Like many, I forgot most of the names - oooops!
