This was my familys grocery store and was next door to the home where I grew up. It was a vibrant community store from the mid 1940s through the 1970s. It was very common for my dads friends to gather there in the evenings to visit until closing time, which varied according to when the sun went down. During the summer, quitting time usually meant around 9:00. Some of my dads friends that came by might have been George Cooper, George Campbell, Lowell Montfort, J G Lacey or B Z Parker. I know many fish tales were shared and fishing trips planned in our little grocery store. Sweet memories!
