This was my first roller coaster and still my favorite. I miss it - TopicsExpress

This was my first roller coaster and still my favorite. I miss it and can dream the entire ride some nights. Some of you know this, but I have a love of roller coasters and amusement parks in general. Not so much into the mega theme parks, but the midwestern and smaller parks, these I love. CedarPoint is to me what Disney World is to kids. I worked for 6 + years at Worlds of Fun and Valleyfair combined. I got into urban exploring because of my combined love of caves and abandoned amusement parks. It all started on this coaster as a kid at Worlds Of Fun. When I worked there, before the Boomerang took its former location, the old Zinger Queue House was an employee break area. I would always sneak off to go hang out in the old Tunnel that was at the end of the ride. No seat belts or lap bars. You sat inline like in a log flume ride. It was great as a kid because your parent holding you is what made you feel safe and as a teen there was no better ride to take a date on. It is one of those coasters that was magical to so many people and it was sorely missed when it was dismantled. I remember going on an overcast day and it drizzled but never stored or poured rain, and there was nobody in the park. We rode the zinger maybe 20 or so times. It is still there, I can close my eyes and live that ride from the spiral lift hill to the abrupt stop after the tunnel.
