This was my first time using paint off of a canvas, milk paint at that, I tried surfacing each differently, the first was oiled, the second was off the knife dry, and the third I scuffed up with sandpaper. Mostly I just want to share the spoons! I had some milk paint left over so painted these two crudely handled tools which had a tendency to get lost because they look like sticks. They are knives with narrow use, restricted to scissor cuts. They give my carving hand a rest as the handle is leveraged against and moved by the ribcage while the hand rests. The offhand holding the spoon does most of the moving.
