Concerning Dog Breeders vs. Shelters. Yes there are very nice and adoptable dogs in shelters...do note, all those dogs are there due to ignorant people. Either puppy mills, not spaying or neutering and lack of research of the breed of dog you are getting and where that fits into the lifestyle a person can offer. These dogs did not come in there from RESPONSIBLE BREEDERS. Note the capital letters everyone. Just because someone breeds dogs doesnt make them a responsible breeder. Do your research. ..the responsible breeders do not make money breeding. They usually have jobs to support their hobby. They breed for the love of the breed and to produce better dogs. They have goals in mind with each breeding. They have waiting lists for their puppies because they have proven themselves. They also take their puppies back, have contacts so they cannot be in shelters. Just because you have a dog doesnt mean it should be breed. Yes your one neighbor really would like a puppy because they like your dog...that isnt a reason to breed. That is the ignorance that gets dogs into the shelters. People quit harassing breeders that are credible! Educate yourselves before throwing stones at them. Many donate to shelters and rescue some of those dogs. They are not the problem. The general public breeding without research or goals or just lookin for a quick buck is the problem. Buying dogs from those people is also the problem. Puppy mills cannot exist if people dont buy from them. I am sure I just passed a few people off with this. That is not my objective...it is to get people to think and get educated.
