This was posted on the Pilots N Paws FB page this afternoon. They removed it. Everything on their page is positive...hmmmmmm... Cynthia St Clair wrote on Pilots N Pawss timeline. 4:26pm. Im shocked that you will participate in transporting Summer. Most major airlines will no longer transport dolphins because of the cruelty involved in both the transport and their life as a circus performer following. I sincerely wish you would re-think becoming involved in the captive dolphin industry. I understand that she will be given midazolam as a relaxant for the trip due to the fact that she will be able to feel the air pressure and it can/will make her anxious. That drug has been proven to cause deafness in dolphins. What do you bet after the “intensive tests” at Dolphin Research Center that their findings will be that “Summer stranded because she was deaf” (fyi…she is not deaf, currently). I have always admired Pilots N Paws mostly because my Daddy was a pilot and flew many animals to wildlife hospitals, etc long before there was such a thing as Pilots N Paws. I’ve always been thrilled that you organized as a group to help rescue needy pets. Please give another thought to being a part of the captive dolphin industry.
