This was quite a day in eastern Iowa as the storm came not only - TopicsExpress

This was quite a day in eastern Iowa as the storm came not only once but returned one more time just for good measure. Debbie and I fought the threat of water entering the basement and by Gods grace we were able to keep most of it out and keep the basement dry. We did loose our pretty maple tree in our front yard and even with it landing on our house almost no damage at all. A huge thanks goes out to Brian and Amber for taking the lead on taking down and cutting up the tree. We could not have done this without you. And God love our neighbors and friends. Merlin and Penny as well as Dean and Elaine came quickly to help us with a generator and bailing water from window wells. And thanks also to Brian Goert and Mike Dauber and Dennis and Cheryl Boedeker for lending a hand on tree cutting and dragging the limbs to the street. We were lucky as it could have been worse. The weather reminds us that we are not in control. I thank God that He is never caught off guard and that He sits on the throne and hears every prayer. We are exhausted but we know that tomorrow will bring a new day for a fresh start. Thanks Tipton for clearing the trees from the streets and keeping the power on!
