This was said already back in the late 70s early 80s, but people wanted luxury and lust from foreigners. People began buying all kinds of stuff from overseas. Then some of the American products struggled to compete but everyone still wanted all that lust and wanted top quality for low price. With all the greed, competition many companies began to die. Many of those companies themselves went overseas, gave out the technology so the rich would have security and jobs, yet live in America. I was a toolmaker and back in the 80s a supervisor. We would get advertisement to build the dies/tools overseas. It became that it was cheaper to ship your work on a ship, send it overseas to have built, have good quality and save yourself big money. Many jobs taken in here in America where shipped out. The greatest CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery is foreign made. Technology beyond your dreams, cost cheaper then American built and quality is superb. These machines make all kinds of tools and in todays age of Technology we would not have it if it wasnt for this machinery. People in other countries did not get paid waht we in America get paid for services. Much work for that reason alone went overseas. I remember too when I built car battery molds for Mexico here in the US. I had opportunities of even quoting on jobs for them. I was told by our sales department to cut out any luxury in the tools design, cut corners that would save building cost, but to quote double for Mexico. I let the sales department know I could cut corners and give them a price but would give a price that i would honestly see it as. I told them it be up to them to do the actual quote on the job as I did not want the part of it on cheating someone. This all went fine for a few years until the Mexican companies in Mexico became wiser. They got mad at us, demanded more in quality, on time delivery and less in cost. We lost the contract with them and they obtained the knowledge and saw much of it when they came to visit our company to see the progress of the building of their tools. They saw many other molds just like theirs that we where building for companies in America that had quality workmanship. Companies such as GNB batteries and Exide that where close friends of mine when I was a lead toolmaker. When I was a kid we did not bye stuff made in Japan. If we saw the name Japan on it we knew it was junk. It was just that. We educated them with technology, they grew and learned while Americans where just thinking of getting rich and making money. These are facts people and I do believe in America. We need to get her back as she is dying. Children need to be better educated, people need to buy American and make quality products, people need to work smarter, producing quality and most of all stop living for high lust and big money. THE FACT IS WE CUT OUR OWN THROATS BUT WONT ADMIT IT! GREED AND LUXURY WILL SOMEDAY RUIN YOUR LIFE IS A FACT!
