This is a good example of how white folks can rap rough without falling into the trap of being lambasted for inappropriate cultural appropriation. There are no black accents, there are no signifiers of some black experience, and there is no ghetto face. There is a rock lick as the basis for the song, and the imagery is straight out of bro country. 2. But this is better than bro country because its so freaking specific. There are no platitudes about dirt roads and moon light and trucks and skin tight jeans. Its all about the work and the slang of working on trucks and actual smoke coming out of the stack. 3. There is a lot of shippin going on in my head with these two guys - as in they spend a lot of time together working on a truck cause their girlfriends just dont understand, and sometimes a buddy needs to help out a buddy, right? Its not gay if its your best friend in the back of your truck, right?
