This was the summary from a review I wrote for our recent stay at the McCall, Idaho resort: Please understand that my rating has to do with how the resort measured up to my expectations. When we bought our credits several years ago, we were under the impression that we were buying into extremely nice, fully stocked vacation experiences. Over the years, more and more of the extras have been stripped away. Now the experience is more like staying at a slightly glorified hotel. More and more of the kitchen items have been removed while disposable items like dish detergent and washing machine detergent have been rationed to the point where I feel like a poor orphan asking please sir, I want some more every time I have to call the front desk. Then theres the wifi. Motel 6 gives you free wifi! Instead, we had to pay a rather high premium for 10 days (who stays for 10 days? Why isnt it 7 days?), and what we received was little better than dial up at times. Also, several of the people staying with us had trouble connecting. We were there on a company retreat with several friends who are not owners. Did they have a positive experience? Are any of them likely to become owners? I dont think so. WM should try to sell itself by having a great product and not by hounding us with sales calls. I also need to add that the staff were great. Its the facilities themselves and what they reveal about the way Wyndham is operating that is taking away from the value of our investment. We have to let them know that we see what they are doing and dont care for it.
