This was too beautiful and true not to share on here. Far too many of us have grown up with the idea that we must cut, reduce, loose, colour, shape, buy and distort our beautiful bodies to fit into unnatural social standards of beauty. Standards designed by men for men. Standards that teach us that we must conform, change and contort ourselves if we ever hope to be desirable and achieve the things that we need to achieve if we want to be deemed as successful women until one day we realize that we no longer belong to ourselves. That we belong to a society that teaches us to view ourselves from a male gaze to such an extent that we internalize that view, until all we see is the constant, unwavering males critical and disapproving glare instead of seeing the dazzling beauty of our own femininity and uniqueness.
