This was written by the Chambers Executive Director Kathy Rhoads this week. Please read it and support our community during Saturdays Crazy Dayz event. If you plan it —they will come Phone calls and visits have been made, the schedule has been filled and information has been distributed—now it is up to the you—the community to support it. I am a firm believer that “if you plan it—they will come.” I believe that our residents are hungry for fun family oriented activities to fill their weekends and that is where the idea for Saturday’s Edgar County “End of Summer” Crazy Dayz started. The Chamber of Commerce, members of the Paris SPARC and the Edgar County Farm Bureau have worked together during the past several weeks planning this one-day event in downtown Paris. The ideas kept coming for activities which would appeal to all ages and hence the name “Crazy Dayz.” Where else can you go to one location and enjoy music, dance, gymnastics, jeep show, petting zoo, farmers’ market, flea markets, strong man competition, sidewalk sales and a variety of delicious foods? The vendors, which will be set up on the Edgar County Courthouse lawn, will also offer a wide variety of goods guaranteed to appeal to everyone visiting the day-long event. Vendors include: Perfectly Posh, Scentsy, Jamberry Nails, Origami Owl, PCHS Band Parents, Blingy Thingz, Rachel’s Red Barn Cookies, The Cherry Tree, Sew Larson, Poperazzi Jewelry, Longaberger, Health & Wellness Products, Pop’s Kettle Corn, Thirty-One, Norwez, Woodcarving, Nita Comstock, Bradshaw Family, and there will be many, many more. As the director of your local Chamber of Commerce I would love to think that the turn out and support of this event will be so tremendous that we not only make Crazy Dayz an annual event, but can start planning more and more social events in our community. So, please, Saturday morning when you load the car up with your family drive to downtown Paris, get out of the car, walk around your square, visit your stores, enjoy the entertainment and say hi to a neighbor of friend you haven’t seen in a while. I encourage you to stay right here in Paris and see what kind of fun you can have while supporting your community.
