This wasnt the Israelis, if they wanted him dead they wouldve killed him a long time ago, and they sure the heck wouldnt of killed him like this. This is more then likely spillage from the Shiite attacks on the Sunnis in Iraq and Syria. Lebanon is a tinderbox right now and a car bomb was exploded outside the Iranian embassy in Lebanon. There will be reprisals for this assassination and the car bomb as the Iranians will look to punish the Sunni sect responsible. HOWEVER; some of the facts in this suggest it may have been an inside job, ie silencers, 5 man team and killed outside his home late at night (inside info or rudimentary surveillance??) and the fact that Hezbollah immediately blamed the Israelis despite a Sunni faction taking responsibility. It could be the Iranians wanted Hezbollah to take a more regional focus and be more aggressive against Israel. Theres just not enough to make that determination however; Iranian intentions are always nefarious. We will see who his replacement is..
