This weather is wreaking havoc on my car. Inside the floorboards - TopicsExpress

This weather is wreaking havoc on my car. Inside the floorboards there are bits of dead leaves and grass. Outside there’s a gray film and the tires are muddy. If we get a sunny day it’s been too cold to clean it. Any warm day has been wet. There are other drivers who splash road grime on me and I can’t do anything about that either. So I am driving a dirty car on the inside and out. As soon as I get the chance I’ll clean it up. Our lives can get grimy too. Depending on the weather we’re experiencing: busy-ness, worry, pain, anxiety, fear and more – we are in a mess. We meant to clean out the little bits and wipe the small spots quickly but it got ahead of us. Now our lives can get into a real mess. Even believers can find themselves feeling less than great on the inside and out. We just keep driving our lives, hoping that somehow things will clean up, perk up or change completely. Finally we are so depressed about it all that we head to the only One who can detail our lives even in the worst of weather. Oh beloved, God wants you to know this day that only He can clean up your mess. He’ll work on the inside first. A clean heart and a renewed mind are His best jobs. That’s what He’s famous for. You’ve been so worried about appearances and you’ve run yourself ragged, bogged down in the grime of life. He knows your troubles; He saw the discouragement that enveloped you like a gray film. He also knows the junk that’s been thrown on you by others. But as He works on the inside, you will find that the outer part – your countenance – will change too. Nothing like a touch up with the Savior! His love makes the darkest times shine. His love for you will give you a new reason to push aside the junk that wants to get inside. No believer should ever carry around fear and worry and anxiety. They weigh down and dirty up the heart and mind. He wants you to know that His love for you is clean and pure and wonderful. He also wants you to know that His love for you transcends your outer appearance or your worst of times. You are not the sum of your troubles. You are a showcase for the shine of the Holy Spirit from a heart that is steadfastly looking to Him for all things. God loves you and He’s for you! He means it! Let the things go that you can’t do anything about right now. Trust God to relieve you of the things that want to dirty up your heart and mind. Ride in style for you are a child of the Most High God! You still have places to go and things to do but with a heart that’s been lightened for the journey, you will have time for Him and all those other things. What a Savior, what a Redeemer, what a Friend! Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. KJV Acts 15:9 He made no distinction between us and them, for He cleansed their hearts through faith. Psalm 51:7 Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. I Corinthians 6:11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. Hebrews 10:22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting Him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.
