This weds 7-30 till 8-30 Rathcoole comm centre there will be an open evening for the specialist dementia day care cnt which has recently opened in Rathcoole If u have a family member or relative that requires affordable care then this is for you My kids want me to go because i forget things- i always forget to buy them sweets and fone credit -i even forget to record home and away and as for names i just call their friends-that little shit Dementia has a stigma attached which many believe is associated with the older generation- its difficult watching ur grandparents or indeed ur parents losing their independence and requiring assistance on a daily basis- its no laughing matter when u are no longer recognised or remembered by ur own family We can get a laugh and make a joke out of an elderly person when they no longer recall why they went into a room or what they went in for-we even make fun of their general understanding of life and their pronunciation -there are a million observations of a person with dementia that we can make fun of-albeit in a harmless manner The excellent trained staff that will be in attendance on weds nite will gladly give u all the information u require on weds nite- and as for me i will be taken a light hearted look at the elderly and the slightly bonkers 2moro on my fb page So there u have it- The specialist dementia day care centre newly opened with professional local staff with yrs of experience are inviting you and yours to the open nite weds 26th june- you can tell ur nan but she will forget
